Growing up in the landscapes of New Mexico, Amanda Davis studied Fine Arts at the University of New Mexico as well as the local community college. She comes from multiple generations of female painters.

"I look for the juxtaposition between crude and soft, light and shadow. I love grime and squiggles, architecture and contours. I witness the way light reflects and changes throughout the day. I feel the peace that morning solitude can bring- the breath before chaos, the space to daydream-the emptiness that precedes the creation; this is the space I occupy."
